Backpacking Campout

Backpacking campout:

When: May 18-19th -Friday 5pm (at trailhead) til Saturday afternoon
Where:  Lytle Creek Middle Fork, Trail camp Stone House Trail Camp and or Three Stream Crossing MAP
Cost:  Zero, nothing, nada, zip.  Only prep for food.

You need:
  • Trail Map Link - Print it, and you'll need your compass
  • Backpacking checklist - Only take what you think YOU will need, we're all different.  You want a light pack but still prepared.
  • Outdoor essential list (10 essentials expanded by your friendly Scoutmaster :o)
  • Bring your food for Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, possible lunch and snack. Least amount of plastic and waste please.
  • Forest Adventure pass
Notes:  
  • Steve M. has the wilderness permit for 12 people so get on the list!!
  • If Scouts are adventurous enough we can hike to a waterfall too if time allows.
  • Short introductory backpack trip so Scouts can get comfortable with backpacking and then we will move to longer trips.  Like San Jacinto off the Tram or hike over San Jacinto to Idyllwild.
  • Practice cooking your own food, on your small backpacking stove, least waste as possible, no prepackaged plastic please.
  • 5/14/2018 Troop meeting we will be talking about your backpack, being prepared and food.
